General and Mrs. Ulysses S. Grant - Historical Interpreters, Actors, and Historians
Ulysses S. Grant Cottage
State Historic Site
Mt. McGregor
Wilton, New York

Mt. McGregor is important to those interested in U.S. Grant's history. It was at this cottage that Ulysses Grant completed his memoirs just days prior to his death. The cottage has been preserved by the Friends of the Ulysses S. Grant Cottage as it looked when he died on July 23rd, 1885. It is well worth the visit to the cottage near Saratoga Springs, NY to see where he spent his last days. The city of Saratoga Springs is just a short distance away and was where the Grant family spent many happy days from 1865 until Ulysses's death in 1885.
